Banyumulek is a village located in West Nusa Tenggara Province, Indonesia. It is famous for its pottery. Decades ago, all villagers were pottery makers.They made items for their own daily use, tableware and cookware. While the men in the village were working in rice fields, the women were making pottery. They also sold their products out of the village to support their families financially. With traditional ways of firing, simple tools they use and good skills they have, they have produced good quality pottery products.

When we go to Banyumulek, we will still see people drying the clay in front of their house. It is a quite common view there. Although, in this modern age, the people of Banyumulek still make their products by hand, with simple tools and traditional ways of drying and firing, they are able to make many kinds of tableware, cookware, indoor and outdoor home decor items, and custom-made products.
